In reply to Grant. Hi Grant, that's hard to say. If this is a registered breeder, in the U.S. lynx points are called colorpoint shorthairs. If not a breeder, then I would say you could adopt a lynx point Siamese mix from shelters or rescues for much less.

We are fostering an 8 month old Lynx Point Siamese and are looking for a loving home for him. He is very playful, and you’ll always find him playing by himself with toys.

I had a lynx point Siamese. We got him as a kitten from our neighbors cat who had a litter. He was a gorgeous cat. He had a spotted striping on his side, a spotted belly, and a thick strip going down his back, along with the striping on his face, legs, and tail. He was an extremely friendly cat, love attention, got along with the other cats and our dog. He meowed some, but was usually quiet, he could not vocalize his purring though, u could only feel it when u put ur fingers on his throat. He also only ever hissed once in his life, and he couldn’t really vocalise that either, it was just a little sigh of air that would come out, and we never once heard him growl. He wasn’t really the brightest of cats though, I honestly question a lot of time if his iq ever even got above a 3. But he was such a good ball and a sweetheart. He never really played much at all either. He picked on our one cat often, and did like to hid in his tent and pop out after people when we walked by before popping back in, but that was about it, he never played with any toys. He absolutely loved laying on his back with his back legs facing one way, and his front legs the opposite way, showing off his spotted belly. And he loved going out side to go on walks or roll around on the porch. He was also obsessed with boxes, even if he couldn’t really fit in a lot of them. He was a big boy. He weighed nearly 16 pounds of almost pure muscle. The vets loved him when we took him in for checking ups, and everyone else loved him when they came to out house, we was a really friendly cat. He wasn’t a lap cat though, he preferred laying on your shoulder. And he had a weird obsession with watching running water. We recently lost him though due to cancer, he was only 9 years old, he also suffered from idiopathic vestibular disease that nearly killed him when he was only 2 years old.

In reply to Cat. You will definently enjoy him/her. I raised my boy from birth as he was abandoned at my husbands job, he is one of 3 boy(cats) and he is so loving, sweet, and so very handsome!! He is the most playful and loves to snuggle and be carried by my daughter, of course all cats have different personalities, but he is just a huge joy in our family!!

My girlfriend bought one for 400$ and now I’m buying one for 450$ because I love hers so much. However, the person I am buying the cat from says the grandfather is “full Lynx”. But I thought that the name just came from looking like a Lynx and that they weren’t actually bred with Siamese. How much should I really be paying for one?

We had an accident not planned breeding between a seal point snowshoe siamese with stripes and spots and a chocolate point siamese. It produced a snowshoe siamese with blue eyes, a snow siamese blue eyes full of stripes with brick red nose, a brown chocolate point with turquoise eyes and stripes and spots and a lilac siamese with blue eyes.

Each has their own personality. I want to keep them all.

I have a lynx point Siamese female cat. They are totally different from all cats I had before. Cats are smart as we know…but this kind , is extremely clever. They are NOT talk active, mostly quiet. Shy sometimes but also they can be very charming. We have locked her by mistake in a room for 2 days ( no worries food and water was inside the room ) She could not escape ..they only way was a sliding door window to get out of that room. As we came back home , we have seen that she did unlock the window locker and was opening the window by herself. I couldnt believe that as I ve seen it. She really did that…

In reply to Chris. Hi Chris, Your kitty sounds wonderful and a bit challenging if she is still jumpy and combative. I've had great results with a formula from the Jackson Galaxy website. You might look at his site to determine if his calming formulas are right for your situation. My lynx point is calmer, more loving and playful in the two weeks since I've used the Jackson Galaxy formula. Best of luck!

We found a kitten that apparently was dumped in our neighborhood. Very young, maybe eight weeks, just weaned. It had the general appearance of a Siamese but striped tail, striped markings on the legs and snowshoes. Striped marking on the face. Dark ears, like a Siamese and darker rump area also like a Siamese. I placed an ad but no one claimed it. We found him on Halloween Eve so we named him Goblin. Appears that we have found a Lynx Point Siamese. He fits the description to a Tee and has the Siamese voice and personality. Smart, playful, gets along with out two Sokoke cats and two Egyptian Mau’s. I can’t believe someone would dump such a beautiful kitten. Our good fortune, he is so sweet.
