Meezer Mama Adopts Puppy
Coco the cat, a Havana Brown, gave birth to her kittens the same day that Hope the Shih Tzu puppy was born. So when Hope’s mother rejected her after a sibling was stillborn, Coco stepped in.
Coco’s owner Paula Ball decided to introduce Coco to Hope. “I suggested it because there was no other option – the puppy wouldn’t have survived otherwise,” she said.
Coco adopted Hope right away; she nursed right along with the kittens!
With Paula and the veterinarian watching over the happy family, Hope was a very lucky puppy indeed.
“It’s quite unusual for a cat to take a puppy on as its own but it helped that they were born on the same say and that Paula acted so quickly to introduce the puppy.”
