Older Kitties Need Homes Too!
We love kittens! In fact, it’s hard to imagine not loving them. But we love adult kitties, too.
Sadly, older cats are harder to place, so it’s especially heart-warming and exciting when an older kitty finds a much-needed home.
That’s why we’re excited to share with you this story from the Record about the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society establishing a program to foster older and infirmed cats so that they too can be matched with people who will love and care for them.
Here’s an excerpt to give you the gist:
… the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society has launched a palliative care foster program for older cats and dogs.
The new program will provide foster homes for the shelter’s less frisky animals — elderly or infirm pets that might otherwise be euthanized…
Seymore, a 15-year-old Siamese cat who came in as a stray, was the first animal to be placed through the new program this week.
We here at the Siamese Cat Spot have a special place in our hearts for Siamese Cats (who knew?), so we’re really glad to hear that Seymore found a home.
We say Good On You, Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society! And Way To Go, Kristen! May you both serve as an examples for others to follow!
