I adopted two 6-month old rescue kittens last week, refugees from the Houston hurricane & flood last summer. One is a female black & white tuxedo kitten, the other a male snowshoe! They supposedly were found together in Houston and are very bonded. They are both gorgeous.

In reply to SiamCat. My cat was found about 4 yrs ago as a kitten. I'm just finding out he has the markings of a Snowshoe. I named him Cleo Ching of the Pampas (Cleo.) I see a few people on this site who've named their's Cleo. Too funny!!

I have blue point snowshoe named chaos and her sister artemis is a pretty calico, they were orphaned and I bottle fed them, they had a brother too who looked siamese, no white paws but he had a white ear 🙂

Hello Randy,
I’m so sorry for your father’s loss. I have a snowshoe and was lucky enough to find him in a shelter. His name is Blu and he is full of personality. He plays fetch and is the joy of our house hold. I can’t imagine what your father is feeling. My suggestion is to look to the shelters as there are so many that need a lot of love and a great home that I’m sure your father could provide. You can even search for a certain breed on these sites. Good Luck.

Thank you for your very informative article. I am looking for a Siamese to fill the void left when my lovely cat died after 15 years. I just wouldn’t have any other breed than the Siamese! I have found a breeder offering Snowshoes and I needed more info because I was afraid they were not what I would have considered “pure breed.” Your article helped so much.

I got me a snowshoe siamese for the first time and he is alittle aggressive to my other older cats but he is just always are just wanting to play we try to wear him out he loves to be held at all times i have never knew of or had a cat to insist on you to hold them but i guess simba is different he puts me in mind of a 2 year old like hold me hold me i insist u on holding me he also wants to be held even when im sitting on the pot lol but i love him all the same he sure keeps me on my feet love him so much he is so lovable
